Read the manual but there is nothing about gas cap, VSC, & Trac relationship.
Detailed review:
At less than 600 miles the following lights came on: check engine light, VSC light, & Trac off light. Took to dealer. The dealer said the gas cap was not tight enough so the check engine light came on and when the VSC & Trac systems detect the check engine light is on, the VSC & Trac lights come on also. This is ridiculous as there was no indication the gas cap was 'loose'. Nothing was wrong with the Vehicle Stability Control(VSC) and Traction Control(TRAC).
Dealer said the $76.50 diagnosis charge would be billed to Toyota this one time and the next time I would be charged.
This must be fractured Toyota logic, the dealer was feeding me a bunch of BS, and/or there are problems with the VSC & Trac systems the dealer and Toyota are hiding.
