Be Smart About L.A. Auto Show: Concept Cars

Honda Insight

The Honda Insight Concept is almost a concept in name only. It debuted at the 2008 Paris Auto Show, but previews the production version of the 2010 Insight, which will go on sale early in 2009. At the 2008 L.A. Auto Show, Honda said that the Insight will accomplish two goals. The first is providing a low-cost hybrid that will provide the fuel economy of the current Civic Hybrid, but at a base price less than $20,000. The second will be re-establishing Honda as a leader in hybrid technology, and increase sales of its hybrids by 400 percent over the next few years. Sure, it looks a little like a Prius, but if you're going to target that car, why not look like it, too?
