Few vehicles have consistently maintained their relevance over four decades, but the Mustang suffered from bland styling and everyman performance in the mid-eighties. That said, the Mustang may be one of the few that can boast such longevity. In that time, the Mustang has evolved into what it is, to be sure - but it has also served as a barometer of sorts for the changing tastes and trends in American - from 1960 and into the 21st Century.
