IIHS test reveals which vehicles sustain the greatest damage in low-speed accidents


Just so you know…
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety is wholly supported by auto insurers. While their main objective is to make sure vehicles are safe for consumers, they are certainly doing their best job to keep repair costs down to for their benefactors, and running tests like this creates consumer discontent which turns into pressure placed on manufacturers to build stronger, more durable vehicles. In fact, not one of the 49 vehicles tested so far has received a "Good" rating from the Institute, but the top three have received scores of "Acceptable." Those three are on the following pages.
