Electric cars – They’re not Just for Kids. That’s the tagline we’d suggest if we handled marketing for Tesla. No, we probably wouldn’t keep the job very long, but it would hammer home the point that functioning, tested, and desirable electric cars are here today, and are not solely a product of the future. The most notable is the Tesla Roadster, a sexy two-seater that reaches 60 mph in less than four seconds, travels up to 244 miles on a charge, and can be fully recharged by plugging the car into a 120- or 240-volt outlet. Admittedly, there’s still room for improvement, but Tesla is quickly proving that not all electric cars offer a short range and sluggish performance. Unfortunately, at just over $100,000, this one’s not quite suitable for us Average Joes.
