First Drive Q&A: 2010 Lexus HS 250h

The world's first dedicated luxury hybrid (is not just an upgraded Prius)

So what's your overall opinion?

The 2010 Lexus HS 250h didn't exactly rock our world, but it's definitely a solid package, loaded with luxury features, and it promises very good fuel economy. However, price is going to be a big factor. If the HS 250h comes in too close to $40,000, it will encroach heavily on the new BMW 335d, a diesel version of BMW's extremely popular compact sedan that returns some pretty solid mileage numbers of its own. Diesel is definitely gaining popularity, even among the green set, and the HS 250h could have its work cut out for it.
