The 2010 GMC Terrain is so new that the government’s crash test authority, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), hasn’t tested this little crossover yet. However, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has, awarding the Terrain its Top Safety Pick award due to excellent results in frontal- and side-impact tests. Part of that outcome is due to the inclusion of six standard airbags.
