Somewhat controversial styling aside, the compact 1 Series coupe offers BMW's trademark handling acuity, a quiet ride and exceptionally smooth engines. The 128i features the standard inline-6 engine with 230 horsepower, while the 135i adds a turbocharger and nets 300 horsepower.
