About Scott Mead With a little help from his grandfather, Scott Mead began driving at the tender age of 3. By age 8, he was racing go-karts. When he wasn't
racing, Scott was pulling apart and restoring cars, particularly his grandfather's Pantera, which was shown actively on the ISCA car-show
circuit. With that car, Scott won the Detailer of the Year award in 1988 and 1989 -- the only person to win it for two consecutive years. Scott
is a graduate of Cal Poly Pomona's Communications department. Scott began freelancing in 1995. He's been published in such publicati as the San Gabriel Valley Tribune, Whittier Daily News, Pasadena Star News, Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords" and "Super Ford," and has collaborated on several car books. Prior
to joining Motor Trend and Truck Trend Magazines in 2000 as Senior Feature Editor and Photographer, Scott worked at Edmunds.com as Senior Editor.
