First Drive Q&A: 2010 Lexus HS 250h

The world's first dedicated luxury hybrid (is not just an upgraded Prius)

How fuel-efficient is it?

The 2010 Lexus HS 250h hasn't yet been officially evaluated by the EPA, but Lexus projects that it will get approximately 35 mpg city, 34 highway and a 35 mpg combined rating. Compared with other four-cylinder luxury sedans, that's far and away the best of the pack, but it's not much better than an average economy car, and far below the Toyota Prius. The highway mileage is also lower than the new BMW 335d, the diesel version of BMW's evergreen compact sedan.
